What is SaaS? The software-as-a-service model explained

SaaS: SaaS is software you run from a browser on a subscription instead of buying and installing it.

SaaS stands for Software as a Service: the software runs on the provider's servers and you use it from a browser on a monthly or yearly subscription, with no installation, in-house server or maintenance team.

Unlike traditional software, updates, backups and security are the provider's responsibility, you pay for usage instead of a large upfront licence, and you can log in from anywhere on any device.

Advantages: low entry cost, continuous updates, easy scaling by adding users. Drawbacks: dependence on connectivity and the vendor, plus long-run cumulative cost — so choose a provider that lets you export all your data at any time.

Our group products (Namra ERP, Namra IQ, MKFIT, ROVYA) are built as SaaS: you open the system in a browser while we handle operation, updates and backups.

If you have a SaaS product idea we build it end to end: accounts, subscriptions and permissions, an admin dashboard, recurring payments and an analytics panel — under our web application development service.

Need it implemented, not just explained? Namra Tech delivers it with published pricing.

    FAQs about SaaS

SaaS runs in the browser on a subscription with the vendor operating it; installed software needs local machines, servers, in-house maintenance and an upfront licence.

Is my data safe on SaaS?

Yes with a serious provider: encryption, regular backups, granular permissions and full data export whenever you want.

How much does building SaaS cost?

It starts in our custom systems range (from EGP 19,900) and scales with modules, subscription logic and required integrations.
