What is a domain name? Definition, types and prices
Domain name: A domain is your website's address on the internet, such as namratech.com, rented yearly from an accredited registrar.
A domain name is the address customers type in their browser to reach your website. Instead of memorising a numeric server address, they type something readable like namratech.com. Technically it is a label mapped to an IP address through the Domain Name System (DNS).
You do not buy a domain outright — you register it for one or more years and renew it. If it expires it enters a grace period and then becomes available to anyone, which is why we enable auto-renew and send reminders well before expiry.
The extension (TLD) is the last part: .com is the most trusted general business choice, .net suits technical services, .org suits organisations, while .eg, .com.eg, .sa and .ae are local extensions that send a strong geographic signal inside their market and usually require commercial registration documents.
Choosing the name is a marketing decision: keep it short, easy to pronounce and spell, avoid hyphens and digits, and keep it close to your brand. If your exact brand is taken, add a category word rather than distorting the name with numbers.
At Namra Tech the domain is registered in your name as the legal registrant, you receive full login credentials, and we configure DNS, hosting and business email on the same day.
