What is a POS system and who needs one?

POS system: A POS system runs the cashier, invoices and live stock in shops and restaurants.

A Point of Sale system runs on the cashier screen: it records items, issues the invoice, deducts stock in real time and closes the shift with an accurate sales report.

It usually combines software and hardware: a screen or tablet, receipt printer, barcode scanner, cash drawer, and sometimes a scale in food retail. Barcode hardware and printers are available through BlackX, part of the Namra Tech group.

The real benefit shows with multiple branches: unified stock, centrally updated prices and offers, and branch and cashier performance compared from one dashboard instead of manual end-of-day consolidation.

Modern systems support e-invoicing, local payment methods, loyalty and discount programmes, and connect the shop to the online store so you never sell an out-of-stock item.

POS systems in our group are delivered through the Namra platform at getnamra.com; custom systems start at EGP 19,900 depending on branches and modules.

Need it implemented, not just explained? Namra Tech delivers it with published pricing.
